Our relieable informant at Nepali Times - Mr. Arthabeed- says that she's working on a collection of short stories but didn't say when it was coming out. Check it!

you've hooked up with the beed i see. can't really say i'm a big fan of him though, unfortunately.
The second time we went to see Mr. Beed, while giving us some career advice, he told us - You are a product, you have to manage and advertize yourself! Nobody had given me such good advice before and I have been a big fan since then. He also told us that we were like "bhamaras"(ke bhannchha yeslai english ma?) in a garden, that we ought to go from company to company, tasting the nectors in each.
great advice indeed! hehehe.

I agree with Chapamar. The second half is definitely better. Her cynicism with Nepali politics in the first half appears expected and usual, probably because we've already read so many accounts of the Massacre and its aftermath. But Kalikot really drags her out of her depression induced apathy and brings out some strong heartfelt narration.
I emailed Manjushree to say that some big fans of her wanted to sit face to face and pay their tributes but she hasn't replied yet. I don't think she will. I guess that's the price of being a celebrity. They miss out on opportunities like this to meet decent hardworking ordinary citizens who love their country and their faith in her.
