Income generation, nayanepal style…

An explanation on the incomplete short story posted yesterday and many more similar posts to come…

If you were to look at the Fiction section on Sunday’s edition of the Kathmandu Post, well, we are still in the Purano Nepal. However, taking into consideration that it is extremely difficult to change the system from within, we have decided, instead, to generate income from it. The idea is to make up plots, speed-type the story in an hour with little consideration to literary style and form, find an alibi with an ID card, send it to KTM post with the persons name, publish it, and uh… generate income.

The income thus generated will be put to good use – the proceeds will go to perpetually broke, frustrated (and thirsty) Nepali short story writers (i.e. us) to provide for their insatiable thirst for beer.

Looking forward for your valuable input and cooperation.

P.S. If you can find a grade 8 student with a school ID card, and want to write a silly cheesy poem for the children section in Rising Nepal, to quote Starsky, “Do It!”
