Within the next two to three weeks, the new Prime Minister -- whoever it may be -- will face the difficult task of selecting a list of 26 appointees for the Constituent Assembly. Below is my list (not in any particular order):
1. Prof. Dr. Krishna Khanal (knows politics)
2. Dr. Rajendra Joshi, former Vice Chancellor, currently at the World Bank (knows education)
3. Kanak Mani Dixit, Himal Media (knows South Asian politics)
4. Deepak Gyawali, former Minister (knows resource management)
5. Dr. Upendra Devkota, former Minister (knows medicine)
6. Padma Ratna Tuladhar, Human Right Activist (knows mediation)
7. Daman Dhungana (knows mediation)
8. Subodh Pyakurel, Human Right Activist (knows human rights)
9. Pradip Nepal, former Minister (representative from the UML in the CA :))
10. Yubaraj Ghimire, Editor, Samaya
11. Manjushree Thapa, Author/Activist (knows women's issues)
12. Kul Chandra Gautam, former Director of UNICEF/ currently in Kathmandu (knows international donor context)
13. Kush Kumar Joshi, President of FNCCI (knows business)
14. Bhoj Raj Dahal, President of PABSON (knows education, mostly private)
15. Anuradha Koirala, former Minister (knows women's issues)
16. Bishnu Nisthuri, President of FNJ (knows press/journalists' issues)
17. Chandra Prasad Sapkota, Regional Coordinator of NRN for Middle East (knows migration issues, especially that of those going to the Middle East)
18. Bhanu Prasad Acharya, Finance Secretary (well, know the country's economic history inside out)
19 - 26. Nominate seven women from the widows of those who lost their lives in the war, irrespective of whether they were killed by the state or the rebels. Little the country can do to show it cares about those lost lives.

too many male, pahadi, bahuns, no? some names missing - CK Lal, Saket Thakur, Mandira Sharma... well, there are many.
i nominate M.P. (knows people who know things).
"man ko laddu, ghiu sanga ..."
Thanks Sujan dai. :)
Anonymous, This list is open for debate. Not that the person nominating the names will care much about these recommendations anyway. I do hope, however, that they bring people from all backgrounds, not just politics.
on a more somber note, if i had such power to nominate someone, it would surely be my
Mom - hard worker, negotiator, empathizer, independent thinker, instinctively attuned to future possibilities ... oh i could go on all day.
m.p. thanks for the nomination, last name however is spelled "prasai" ;0). It's sorta unfair for you to air my identity out like that,I'd have to resort to being "anonymous" to write bashful/controversial messages now.. sucks.. do I know you?
Anyway, the list could use more diversity, but does not look bad by any stretch. I would recommend "Sahana Pradhan" but she would most likely be in the senate, virtue of the proportional system.
**wow I need to do some research on some of these people, I would have never known about them had you not posted the names on here."Bholi President bhaiyo bhane nominate ta garnu parla ni gathe"**
bhok lagyo,
jai bhudi
You never know, Warrior! :) Ten years ago, who would have thought The Fierce One would be where he is now!
Sorry about the misspelling of your surname.
Maha jodi lai rakhe kaso hola?
