time : 1 minute to midnight, 1/9/06
Following a cold and dry winter, temperatures are rising in Nepal. And it seems like the "andolan season" has begun. A royal curfew has been imposed upon Kathmandu and Lalitpur since tuesday from 10 pm until 4 am. On Wednesday, the royal curfew was extended by an hour to make it 9 pm until 4 am. On thursday, today, the royal curfew was again extended, from 8 pm until 4 am.
Tomorrow, there's a curfew in Kathmandu and Lalitpur from 8 am to 6 pm. The goal of the curfew is to disrupt the 7 party gathering in Basantpur.
Meanwhile, the clown is somewhere in the east, handing our promises to build roads to places he didn't know existed.
-this from Jan 7 Gorkhapatra (via Nepali times)
Ilam Resident 1: Your Majesty, we need employment. We need peace. We need roads.
His Majesty: Where do you want the road to go?
IR1: Till Jitpur.
HM: Where is Jitpur?
IR1: West from here
