India's Independence Day
It is India's independece day, and in the midst of the superficially patriotic images we are being flodded with by the various Indian media outlets (complete with the umpteenth re-run of Gadar), let us not forget the horror before and after it - the communal riots, massacres, massive displacement... the ghosts of which still affect south asian politics.
