The End of the GPK-MKN Era

The names of the presidential candidates proposed by the three biggest parties in the CA -- NC, UML and CPN-M -- are out. This marks the end of the GPK-MKN era in Nepali politics. Impressive act on the part of the political parties.

President: Dr Ram Baran Yadav
V-President: Min Bahadur Bishwokarma

Unless another power-sharing deal is reached between the parties, my hunch is that Nepali Congress will win. Dr Ram Baran Yadav is a popular name and they have someone from the so-called low caste as a VP candidate.
